What is Android and Symbian?
What makes a different among them?
Android is an operating system that is applied on a smartphone which is basically built using the Linux kernel, with Linux kernel, of course, Android will be immune to the virus so as to ensure better security level compared with the Android operating system on other smartphones. In addition to the Android we can create their own applications easily, using the Java programming language.
Generally, Android smartphone is still high-priced market, so not many people who could have this smartphone, while smartphones have operating systems, among others, Google Nexus One, HTC TyTN, Motorola Milestone, HTC Hero, Nexian Tour, and much more.

Symbian is an open source operating system (OS) and software platform designed for smartphones and currently maintained by Nokia. The Symbian platform is the successor to Symbian OS and Nokia Series 60; unlike Symbian OS, which needed an additional user interface system, Symbian includes a user interface component based on S60 5th Edition. The latest version, Symbian^3, was officially released in Q4 2010, first used in the Nokia N8.
Symbian OS was originally developed by Symbian Ltd. It is a descendant of Psion's EPOC and runs exclusively on ARM processors, although an unreleased x86 port existed.
Symbian was first developed by Symbian Ltd., the operating system is designed for mobile devices associated with the library, users, and tools common in the cell phone. On June 28, 1998 the company Symbian Ltd. in collaboration with several leading mobile brands are Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola and Psion. Symbian shares previously owned Nokia (56.3%), Ericsson (15.6%), SONER (13.1%), Panasonic (10.5%), and Samsung (4.5%). But in 2008 the brand Nokia has all the stocks of Symbian.
Symbian has the same operating system as a computer in general, such as exploration files, applications that many marketed, and symbian can support as a tool for one's profession.
Difference between Android and Symbian:
1. Android bases on Linux, Syimbian bases on EPOC.
2. Display: Symbian have a boring design, while the android has a good design.
3. Android's format is apk, while symbian uses sis/sisx.
4. Mobile phone that using Symbian, only uses the most advanced 680 MHz processor, while the android 1000 MHz (1GHz).
5. Android often need to be upgraded, that is the weaknesses as well as advantages because if we just bought a 2.2 version of the OS, next time we will need to have a 2.3 version of the OS, while the symbian doesn't.
6. Android: it has android market, while symbian has ovi store.
7. Syimbian is only issued to nokia, while android is almost issued for all vendors.
8. Symbian: Nokia, Android: Google.
